Day in Reverse

I don't know why, but the pictures uploaded backwards, so you get our day in reverse:

I went to check on the kids awhile after bedtime and found this:

I let them try it for awhile, knowing it wouldn't work.  10 minutes later they were separated.  Reason?  Hannah was yelling while jumping on the bed.

The weather lately has been GORGEOUS!!  We took advantage of it this evening as Tim and Tommy honed their baseball skills while Hannah and I just did whatever.

Look at that form.  I think we have a future [insert name of any major league baller who has not taken steroids.  I know, I couldn't think of any either].

Oh the Joys of Being Pregnant.

So, I've been a little MIA lately.  I blame it exclusively on being pregnant.  I know that for some people pregnancy gives them a special glow and wonderful "nesting" energy.  Unfortunately, that is NOT the case with me.  However, despite my severe lethargy I have been able to do some things I enjoy.

Ever since Tommy saw the flower I made for Hannah's room, he's been asking me to make a button dinosaur picture for him.  I finally got around to it and here is what he got.

While Tommy's at school, Hannah and I get to spend quite a bit of time together.  She's awfully sweet, but I think she really enjoys it when she gets to play with friends.  Mom just can't get down and play like she used to.

Today was one of those days she got to have a friend come over.  I sent them outside to play and came out to find them both on our patio table winding the umbrella up and back down.  Instead of making them get right down like I probably should have, I thought, "what a great photo opportunity!"  Of course.  Unfortunately I have issues putting pictures of other people's kids on my blog without their permission, so this is the only picture that gets posted.

I lost my first tooth!

Spin-off

So, I was at Pottery Barn Kids the other day and saw this artwork that I thought was adorable. However, it was $100+ dollars and Hannah's room doesn't have any butterflies in it, so really there was no point in getting it.

So instead I recruited Stephanie for some craft time and came up with this spin-off for less than $15. Worth it? I'll let you decide.

How do you keep your kids occupied

on a LONG, LAZY, Sunday afternoon with no Daddy?

After early church, you come home, eat lunch, take a nap, and watch a movie, but there's still several hours left until you can go to Grandma's house for dinner.

So, you paint . . .

Okay, that was fun, but you're bored again, so you do some experiments from your Fizzy, Foamy Science kit that Santa brought.  "Mom, the elves must be really smart if they can make this science," says Tommy.

You need a break, so you put on some "Princess Music" and dance . . . or wrestle as the case may be.

After you bump your head the dancing is over, so you go back and do another experiment from your science kit.

These activities have taken up the remainder of the time until mom can get some back up at Grandma's house.  Evening arrives and we can pick Daddy up at the airport.  Yea!!!!

Another successful Sunday.

Numbers

Ten fingers, ten toes
Two eyes and a nose

Our two will become three
on six/thirteen

Two anxious parents
One sister, oblivious
and one above
One excited brother
Are going to welcome another

Two little lips, numberless kisses
Two little cheeks to receive lots of squishes
One little belly button on one little tummy
To zerbert and tickle and do everything funny

One boy before
Two forevermore

As parents we'll be outnumbered
What will we do?
With the odds in our home
3 to 2!!

Christmas Photo Outtakes

Our Christmas card photo shoot was a little less than ideal this year.  Here are some of the outtakes.   We call the top one the "George Castanza."

Is it bad that this last one makes me laugh?
